Hi everyone,
I’m Yashasvi, a B.Tech student from India with a strong interest in AI systems, robotics, and full-stack development. I recently came across Gemini CLI through the GSoC 2026 organizations list and have been exploring the repository.
The idea of a terminal-native, agentic AI assistant built around MCP and A2A protocols is really exciting to me, and I’d love to contribute.
Background:
Web development experience (full-stack)
C/C++ with system-level understanding (implemented a Unix shell)
Familiar with ML concepts and currently building more practical experience
I’ve gone through the CONTRIBUTING guide and started exploring the codebase.
Currently, I’m looking to pick a good first issue and make a meaningful contribution before submitting my GSoC proposal.
I would appreciate guidance on:
Beginner-friendly areas/modules to start with
Any recommended issues or features suitable for first contributions
GSoC-specific expectations for contributors
Also, if there’s a preferred place for discussions (Discord/Slack), please let me know.
Thanks a lot — looking forward to contributing!
