Description

anthropic models stopped working this morning with: Claude Code credentials are unavailable or expired. Run claude to refresh them.

I made sure to be logged in in claude code and also logged to anthropic in opencode

Steps to reproduce

log in to claude code with max subscription claude auth login
use anthropic provider on your max account opencode auth login
type something to an anthropic model

re-opening, At the time it worked by removing the cache, but it happened again, removed cache and the error persist

A few things worth checking:

1. Plugin cache staleness: clear ~/.cache/opencode/packages/opencode-claude-auth*/ and restart OpenCode (PR docs(readme): add troubleshooting entry for stale plugin cache auth failure #134 covers this in docs). If the locally cached plugin is older than 1.4.10, older auth bugs may bite.

2. Could be Consuming extra-usage instead of subscription after upgrading Claude Code to v2.1.111 (plugin v1.5.0) #206: if you recently upgraded Claude Code, the new request fingerprint introduced in CC 2.1.111+ may reject the plugin's older billing header. PR fix: restore Claude subscription auth parity for Claude Code 2.1.112 #207 addresses that. claude --version will tell you.

3. Debug logs: export CLAUDE_AUTH_DEBUG=1, re-run, then check ~/.local/share/opencode/claude-auth-debug.log. The events keychain_read, credentials_parsed, fetch_response will differentiate "creds not found" vs "creds rejected" vs "creds work but request rejected".

If you can paste the relevant debug log lines, easier to triage.
