Peripheral not receiving disconnect when central is put to sleep on 2.5.0

I have a number of peripheral devices (two to six depending) that all connect to the same central. On 2.4.0, when I power down the central while the peripherals are connected, they recognize the disconnect in a few seconds and start trying to reconnect. If I update from 2.4.0 to 2.5.0, the peripherals no longer see a disconnect event when the central is powered off. I tried upgrading/downgrading a couple of times to assure that the only change was the 2.4.0 to 2.5.0 update and that seems to be the cause.

Happy to provide code If helpful to reproduce the problem, but most of it is based off of your examples.

Thanks for the report @W0VOS, I'm not aware of any changes from 2.4.0 > 2.5.0 that would affect a peripheral device in this manner. I'll try to reproduce this today and get back to you.

Sounds good. I have made a bunch of changes to the app on my side (removed encryption as it was unstable across different client devices) and everything with 2.4 is now running stable (ran for 24hrs with six clients without any issues). I’ll go update to 2.5 again and assure that with the updated client/server code I’m still having the issue (if not, then it would at least point in the direction of the encryption instability issues I’ve been chasing). In my case, I am (sometimes) getting exceptions from the transport layer below you when I have encryption enabled. Take care and thanks again for your work on this library, it is excellent. Ok, just tested again with my latest code and still the same behavior. If it helps, the setup is: -Server Heltec V4 (EPS32) -Client LilyGo T-Watch Ultra (ESP32) but it happens with a Heltec V3 board as well Connection is secured via PIN (no encryption), the client connects and then subscribes to a couple of characteristics and otherwise sits waiting for the server to tell it to do something via a characteristic change. If it’s helpful, I’m happy to debug anything in my environment that is exhibiting the issue. @W0VOS Any chance you could try with the master branch? It has an updated nimble core which works differently in this respect and the issue might be resolved already with that.
