Expected Behavior

It would be great if you could provide an official reactive session implementation for Hazelcast.

Current Behavior

There is a draft PR in the spring-session repository, but that has never been merged.

Context

We already use an inofficial reactive session implementation with Hazelcast.
An implementation with official support would be great 👍

Thank you for raising the idea. We've actually already had it on internal backlog. Since new release is approaching I don't expect it to be a part of 4.0.0, but I hope it will be in 4.1. Will keep you updated.

I tried to use hazelcast-spring-session to configure session management in a Reactive Spring Cloud Gateway application (WebFlux based), but it seems to fail at startup.

My stack is:

Spring Boot 4.0.3
Spring Cloud 2025.1.1
Java 21
WebFlux (no servlet stack)
When enabling Hazelcast session configuration, application context initialization fails with errors like:

NoClassDefFoundError: jakarta/servlet/ServletContext
ClassNotFoundException: jakarta.servlet.Filter
From what I can see, hazelcast-spring-session currently relies on servlet-based session configuration and is not compatible with reactive WebFlux applications.

When WebFlux support? It is impossible to me to use this dependency to configure Hazelcast in my api gateways

you are right, Hazelcast Spring Session is Servlet-based currently.

We have Reactive implementation in the backlog, but right now I cannot say definite date on the planned release.
