Currently, the last commit to the master branch is from Mar 2022: 382f1ed.

And the latest release is 1.0.0 from Mar 2020: https://github.com/hellerbarde/stapler/releases/tag/1.0.0.

Questions about (un)maintenance have also been raised in #95 (comment).

@hellerbarde, could you please shed some light on the situation?

Btw, PyPDF2 istself has gone back to pypdf (see https://pypi.org/project/PyPDF2/) so not sure what rebasing it with pypdf will entail.
