the part that breaks down with a 42-skill bundle isn't the skills themselves, it's the routing. once the model has to pick between playwright-automation, e2e-strategy, flaky-triage, and 39 others per turn, you get wrong-skill activations and context bloat for queries that should hit one skill cleanly. and the Playwright POM template isn't where teams lose time, it's selector drift after a UI refactor. skills can generate v1 tests fine; the maintenance loop where 60% of selectors break post-redesign is the unsolved part.
