This change replaces workspace references with fixed versions, which breaks the Backstage monorepo architecture. In a monorepo, internal dependencies should use
workspace:^references to ensure all components use compatible versions.Fixed versions like
"@backstage/core-components": "0.1.0"will prevent the package from using the locally built version, potentially causing version conflicts with other plugins.While addressing the ReDoS vulnerability is important, the correct approach would be to update the vulnerable dependency in the workspace root rather than pinning these internal package versions. This ensures the fix propagates throughout the monorepo while maintaining compatibility.
Consider reverting these changes and instead addressing the vulnerability at its source in the root package.json.
