How to enable?

I'm trying to figure out how to enable this.

The installer gives:

I've tried a few dx12 games.

Just running a game from Steam doesn't load optiscaler, so it's not automatic.

I've tried running with WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dxgi.dll=n,b %command% -> Does not run optiscaler
I've tried running with Proton GE Latest, Proton ME Latest, Proton Experimental -> does not run optiscaler
I've also tried variations with gamemoderun and so on, makes no difference.

My "not running optiscaler" is based on that no menu opens when pressing HOME in game.

What am I doing wrong?
