Android 16 Splash Screen Low Quality

The image generated with npx capacitor-assets generate generates a very low quality image for the splash screen on Android 16. I've tried source images that are 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 to see if doubling the quality would affect it. It did not.

Is this a me issue, or are other people seeing this issue as well? The generated file is 192x192 which seems incredibly small.

Same here. Furthermore, not only the splash screen but also the icon files are of extremely poor quality.

If you are using the adative icons, there appears to be a bug that filters only against the older Icon AssetKind, which caps the icon at 192x192.

Using the AdapticeIcon AssetKind let's these generate upto 432x432.

I just wrote a yarn patch to fix this, as I'm too lazy to go through the process to contribute directly.

(a) => a.kind === AssetKind.AdaptiveIcon,

This is another repo that has been abandoned by Ionic.

The fix for this was supplied in dec 2024 as #631
