OpenBSD VLAN / VXLAN support

Was looking into adding VXLAN/VLAN support for OpenBSD.

But ran into a major issue that wasn't computing with the code and i'm probably just not understanding.

OpenBSD can have bridge, but it cannot have any IP address information on it, that must stay on the interfaces being bridged.

This is correct. In OpenBSD you do not assign an IP address to a bridge but to a pseudo interface you connect to the bridge.

Are you looking into adding routed sub-interfaces using VLAN tags or do you want OpenBSD to act as a bridge?

For routed sub-interfaces have a look at the man page here: https://man.openbsd.org/vlan

For bridges I recommend the newer "veb" over "bridge" (unless you need STP) and then use a "vport" pseudo interface as SVI.

Hi @remilocherer , I was looking at 'both'
In my limited playing around I was able to get the routed subs
But then I didn't know how to get netlab to create a bridge/veb without IP or if it needed special 'fixup' work within openbsd.py or similar to handle this quirk.

Just guessing -- you could create the bridge name from the VLAN name because it's just a switching construct, not an interface, and then use the pseudo-interface as the netlab VLAN interface name?

It may be possible to do this, I will try and play with it over the weekend.
also the use of veb (base bridge) + vport (actual svi) might work in our favour here.
