Unable to move action graph window to external window

Hello all,
I'm not able to move or resize the action graph window when choosing move to external window option in action/generic graph editor in isaacsim 6.0.
I am able to do the same in isaacsim 5.1.
I have attached a screenshot for context of the menu I'm referring to.
When I do that , it detaches from the bottom toolbar and cannot be moved at all.
I am still able to interact with it normally.

Root Cause

I was able to reproduce this issue. The root cause is in Kit SDK 110's omni.ui C++ windowing layer.

When you use "Move to External Window" (which calls omni.ui.Window.move_to_new_os_w indow() internally), Kit creates a new OS window. In Kit SDK 110 (Isaac Sim 6.0), this new window is created with _MOTIF_WM_HINTS that disable all window
manager decorations:

  _MOTIF_WM_HINTS = 0x2, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0                                                                                                                                                                                                        
                    ^flags  ^decorations=NONE                                                                                                                                                                                                      

This tells the Linux window manager: "Do not add a title bar or resize borders." Without a title bar, you can't grab and drag the window. Without resize borders, you can't resize it.

In Kit SDK 107 (Isaac Sim 5.1), this hint was not set for external windows, so the window manager added normal decorations and everything worked.

The issue is not in the Action Graph extension Python code (which did change between versions), but in the underlying Kit C++ layer: omni.ui -> omni.appwindow -> carb.windowing-glfw -> GLFW -> X11.

Workaround

You can force decorations back onto the external window using xprop from a terminal:

Or as a one-liner:

  xprop -name "Action Graph" -f _MOTIF_WM_HINTS 32c -set _MOTIF_WM_HINTS "0x2, 0x0, 0x1, 0x0, 0x0"                                                                                                                                                 

This restores the title bar and resize borders from your window manager. You'll need to run this each time you detach a window.
