Clarification: does this work with macos .app.zip and notarization

if i have a code signed and notarized .app.zip (macos app format) can I use this to replace the entire .app (Which would keep the .app dir notarized)

Will it overwrite any of the entitlements or cause anything to break esp if i add an entitlement / change the notarization / signing
