Ethernet Passthrough via USB

That will be a great feature if we could emulate USB network adapter also to provide network access via single ethernet cable. I get that usually jetkvm is a sidekick device, but it would be nice feature to have on always connected device too

I agree here. It don't need to be very fast. Also not sure which USB ethernet adpater to choose. pikvm documentation have support matrix for them.

Ideally it should support two options:

• bridge (so that it's possible to unplug ethernet cable from machine itself, plug it to JetKVM and keep IP address)
• host-only with optional NAT (where JetKVM is a 'router')

Thanks for the interest! There was a PoC in #459 by @dlorch that demonstrated ECM-based USB Ethernet with NAT, but it's been closed and is very stale — the codebase has changed significantly since (the entire usbgadget package was refactored). The kernel already has RNDIS, ECM, and NCM compiled in, so the remaining work is at the application layer.

This is something we'd like to support but it needs a fresh implementation on top of the current usbgadget architecture. Keeping this open to track.

That would make our lives way easier when working with devices, where only one ethernet cable is present (like on remote workstations)

#1470 adds CDC-NCM support back, which is a start, but more needs to be built on top of this (nftables to limit what's exposed from the jetkvm side, DHCP/NAT, ... )
