Summary
The guided Windows/Linux camera test scripts are currently included in the console release packages so real PTZ Pro 2 and Linux/macOS validation can be done from downloadable release assets.
Once the related camera-control problem tickets and Linux/macOS validation tickets are resolved, the scripts should remain in the source tree but no longer be packaged into the regular console release ZIP/TAR assets.
Desired outcome
- Keep the scripts in the repository for maintainer and diagnostic use.
- Remove the scripts from regular PTZControlConsole-* release packages.
- Keep release packages focused on the actual end-user console app files.
- Re-check release notes/install docs so they no longer instruct users to run packaged guided test scripts once this cleanup is done.
Dependency / timing
Do this only after the current validation phase is complete, especially after:
- the open Windows PTZ Pro 2 movement/preset behavior issues are resolved or documented,
- Linux/macOS console support has been validated far enough,
- the guided scripts are no longer needed as the primary field-test feedback channel.
Notes
This is intentionally a later cleanup task. The scripts are still useful in source control, but they should not stay part of normal release downloads forever.
