Description

@Honyii

Hello everyone 👋

This issue is opened to begin a structured discussion on how JSON Schema should strategically show up in 2026, particularly at API-focused events such as APIdays Paris. The goal is to align early on visibility, impact, and budget considerations.

Option 1: Dedicated JSON Schema Track

Hosting a dedicated track would significantly increase visibility and allow us to introduce JSON Schema to a broader audience through curated talks, ecosystem showcases, and implementer stories.

Key considerations:

  • AV team coverage for sessions (~€2,600–€3,000)

  • Merchandise

  • Travel and representative expenses

  • Professional photography

  • Video editing and post-production

This option also creates stronger sponsorship opportunities, as we would have clearer space to showcase partners and ecosystem supporters.

Option 2: Shared Open Standards Booth

Alternatively, we could participate through a shared Open Standards booth presence.

Key considerations:

  • Representative expenses

  • Merchandise

This approach is more cost-effective while still maintaining visibility, though with reduced programming control and sponsor activation opportunities.

Next Steps

  • Discuss preferred direction (Dedicated Track vs. Booth)

  • Estimate total projected budget

  • Evaluate sponsorship strategy and funding pathways

  • Identify volunteers/representatives
