Heka has been "deprecated" for years and hasn't seen a commit in 4 years. A better option to include would be Hindsight (github.com/mozilla-services/hindsight). It uses the same Lua sandbox (well, an updated version), has delivery guarantees, is more lightweight, and offers plugin debugging.
