KASM 1.18.1 - suddenly no update to saml configuration possible "This features must be licensed" #889

Description

@maibaum-dfn

Hi,
I have installed kasm 1.18.1 under debian 12 (community edition). I configured saml authentication and everything worked like expected. After some days/weeks I suddenly am not anymore able to edit my saml configuration as I get the error "This features must be licensed". SAML Authentication still works fine (as anything else as well). I could reproduce this on a second server (after ~1-2 weeks after a couple of reboots the same error occures there again).

In the kasm_api - logs I see the following:
2026-06-11 08:03:38,946 [INFO] cherrypy.access.139946027637776: 172.18.0.9 - - [11/Jun/2026:08:03:38] "POST /api/admin/get_saml_configs HTTP/1.1" 200 1353 "https://workspace2.xxx.xxx.xx/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:150.0) Gecko/20100101 Fire

2026-06-11 08:03:43,240 [DEBUG] admin_api_server: Successfully authenticated request (get_saml_config) for user (admin@kasm.local) at (1xx.xx.xx.11)
2026-06-11 08:03:43,241 [ERROR] client_api_server: User (admin@kasm.local) attempted to call (license_status) with improper authorization.

I didn't find any information that the SAML feature is not included in the free edition and as I was initially able to configure it, it seems to me like a bug.

Any hint what could be the cause?
Kind regards,
Volker
