  This milestone is a collection of all breaking changes. Such changes are merged into `prepare-release-2.0` instead of `main` and then will be merged in a single PR into `main`. Fixes to older releases then may be done on extra hotfix branches. Merging due date is not defined yet. We are still collecting ideas and changes to make the API simpler and safer.
