Duplicate inf files listed as black and gray

I see a lot of inf entries that have a gray counterpart to them. The grey are older versions than the black entries. When I select old drivers, I see no old drivers found to select. The inf files have identical names. The explanation
of gray device not being present doesn't make sense since the same device is present in black. Why don't they show as old drivers and do I have to remove these manually?
