When attempting to move an icon pinned to the favorites section of the Aurora Shell dock, the dock starts hiding and reappearing during the drag operation.
This behavior interrupts the reordering process because, while the user is holding and dragging the icon to a different position, the dock moves down and hides the target area.
Steps to Reproduce
Open Aurora Shell.
Access the dock containing the favorite applications.
Click and hold one of the favorite icons.
Drag the icon to another position within the dock.
Observe the dock behavior during the drag operation.
Affected Module
Dock
GNOME Shell Version
50.3
Distribution
Fedora 44
Session Type
Wayland
Relevant Logs
Gravacao.de.tela.de.2026-07-28.13-13-55.mp4
Actual Result
The dock hides while the icon is being dragged and may reappear shortly afterward, repeatedly moving up and down.
As a result, the user cannot correctly position the icon in the desired location within the dock.
Expected Result
While an icon is being dragged, the dock should remain visible and stable.
The user should be able to move and drop the icon into any available position within the dock without the dock hiding during the process.
Additional Context
Acceptance Criteria
The dock must remain visible while a favorite icon is being dragged.
The auto-hide behavior must not be triggered while icons are being reordered.
The icon must correctly follow the cursor movement.
It must be possible to place the icon in any valid position within the dock.
After the icon is dropped, the new favorites order must be preserved.
The dock's normal auto-hide behavior must resume after the drag operation is completed.
