Is it not possible to enable S3 Offsite Sync for remote repositories too?

As far as I understand, rclone is used under the hood for this and it supports server-side transfers. I have never used that feature, so I might be wrong.

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone about the feasibility of this idea.

S3 Sync

Remote repositories do not support S3 offsite sync — they are already offsite. The S3 Offsite Mirror section is hidden on remote repository detail pages. If an S3 sync job is queued for a remote repository, it completes immediately with a skip message.

We can't sync a Remote Repository to S3 effectively (all the data would have to travel back through the BBS Server and we can't install manage/install rclone on 3rd party storage sites). My suggestion if you wanted multiple copies would be to setup 2 backup schedules to 2 different locations. The S3 sync only syncs local storage backups to S3.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I should have checked with rclone first if this was possible as cloud-to-cloud sync :-/
