Terms of use

These terms are a generic template for software distribution. They are not legal advice. Have a lawyer review and adapt them for your entity, jurisdiction, hosted service, and business model.

By accessing or using the Task Hub software (“the Software”), you agree to the following. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. Eligibility and acceptance

You represent that you have the authority to accept these terms on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent.

2. License

Use of the Software is governed by the license file in this repository (if any). If no license is specified, all rights may be reserved; obtain permission from the copyright holder before use beyond personal evaluation.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Software:

  • In violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • To infringe intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
  • To generate or distribute unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, or harmful content (including through AI features).
  • To attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data.
  • To overload, disrupt, or abuse third-party APIs (including AI providers) or this Software’s deployment.

You are responsible for your content, prompts, API usage, and compliance with OpenAI’s and other providers’ acceptable use policies.

4. Artificial intelligence features

AI features (voice assistant, monitor agent, daily summary, or similar) may produce errors. You must review and validate outputs before relying on them for scheduling, work, health, safety, legal obligations, or financial decisions.

We disclaim responsibility for:

  • Incorrect tasks created, modified, or deleted based on AI suggestions.
  • Misinterpreted voice input or transcripts.
  • Summaries, alerts, or “insights” that are wrong, misleading, or incomplete.

5. Bring-your-own API key (BYOK)

If the Software allows you to supply your own API key:

  • You are responsible for securing that key, monitoring usage and billing with the provider, and complying with the provider’s terms.
  • Keys may be stored in your browser (e.g., local storage) or sent to your server per the implementation; you assess the risk for your environment.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind. See DISCLAIMER.md.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, maintainers and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of the Software. See DISCLAIMER.md.

8. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the maintainers and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Software, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of third-party rights.

9. Changes

The maintainers may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms (or stop using the Software).

10. Governing law

Specify your jurisdiction and venue here, e.g.: These terms are governed by the laws of [State/Country], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

11. Contact

Add a contact or issue tracker for your project, if applicable.
