Public API to start/stop profiling

It would be great if there was a public API that would allow the application to trigger profiling. I know that I can trigger the profiling from azure portal from application insights but I have multiple services connected to single application insights resource and would like to be able to trigger profiling only on selected services. It would also be beneficial to be able to disable any automatic profiling.
