Enterprise Power Platform ALM Using Dataverse Git Integration, Power Platform Pipelines, and AI-Assisted Release Governance
Describe your key concept, reference architecture, or solution idea
This submission proposes a repeatable enterprise reference architecture for Power Platform application lifecycle management (ALM) that combines native Dataverse Git integration, Power Platform Pipelines, Azure DevOps governance, and an AI-assisted release notes agent.
The key concept is to establish a governed, source-controlled ALM model that supports multiple parallel development environments (DEV1, DEV2, DEV-n) working in tandem, while maintaining a shared source of truth in Git through branch-based workflows. This enables makers and developers to collaborate in isolated environments without relying on a single shared dev environment, improving scalability and reducing change collisions.
The architecture uses Power Platform Pipelines for simplified, platform-native promotion across TEST, UAT, and Production, with release branches and a controlled hotfix path to improve release stability, traceability, and audit readiness. Azure DevOps provides branch governance, work item traceability, and release scope control.
An additional element in this pattern is an AI-assisted release notes agent that transforms approved release work items into standardized, stakeholder-friendly release communications. This reduces manual operational effort, improves release transparency, and preserves human review and accountability.
Overall, the solution is designed as a practical, low-complexity, enterprise-ready ALM pattern that improves reliability, operational excellence, and team collaboration in Power Platform delivery.
