The first RPG paper mentioned the epicoder feature tree (which is used for defining the functionality graph during the planning phase) was generated from python codebases. I imagine this would suit generation of python codebases best.

I would also guess their method of AST parsing will be geared towards python as well.

However, creating a structured functionality graph with file structure encoding etc as defined in the papers is a concept that would be beneficial for all languages (at least object oriented...).

So, I'd say that while it might not work perfectly out of the box for C / C++, it will certainly be adaptable to those languages. In order to do so I imagine you would want to do the following for the target language:

• generate an epicoder feature tree (relativelt straightforward, see the EpiCoder paper)
• Adjust AST parsing
• Modify prompts

And for quickly validating the value of the structure provided by RPG, you could probably modify the framework to skip the epicoder feature tree.

You’re right — this is generally easier to implement for languages like Python or Java, and more challenging for C or C++ due to their richer and less uniform syntax and build conventions.

In our design, we intentionally try to avoid strong dependence on language-specific syntax as much as possible, focusing instead on higher-level semantic and structural signals. Looking ahead, we plan to further explore applying this approach to projects in additional languages and ecosystems.
