The extension always automatically modifies my global environment

No matter what value I set "python.defaultInterpreterPath" to, it will always be set to the wrong value when I restart VSCode. When I disabled this extension everything worked fine again.

@zzqzzqzzq2002 This extension does not yet support this setting from python extension. I will update this as a feature request to discuss supporting python.defaultInterpreterPath

@karthiknadig I think the main problem here is that the setting keeps changing in global settings.json - and often values that aren't desirable.

For some reason, it selects python3.14 in my case, which is still beta. I don't normally use it and only have it installed for testing things. And it's not even my default python3 interpreter. Looks like it's selected only because it's the latest available on my machine.

Another problem is that I store my settings.json in git, and python.defaultInterpreterPath keeps moving back to the bottom of my settings each time vscode restarts.

I think what may be happening is this extension calls python.clearWorkspaceInterpreter on start - which seems to have similar effect of resetting python.defaultInterpreterPath in global settings, and moving this setting to the bottom of the file.

Hello! Are people still experiencing this? I have not run into this issue where we touch python.defaultInterpreterPath. The only place that extension is referenced is here:
