Unreliable middle-mouse-button paste in integrated terminal on Linux #272927

On Linux desktop there exists the primary selection mechanism: after selecting a text, middle mouse button click pastes it at the position of the cursor. This is a feature that is widely used when working with terminal.
Currently this is partially broken in VSCode's integrated terminal: after selecting a text, middle mouse button click often does nothing. It sometimes helps to move the mouse a bit before pressing the button, occasionally it is necessary to move the mouse into particular regions of the integrated terminal, in other cases nothing helps. Repeated middle button press without moving the mouse in between never helps. On the whole, I haven't been able to observe a clear pattern of the bug / reliable workaround.
Happens regardless whether the terminal integration is on or off.
I don't remember a similar issue in the past (Kubuntu 24.04, VSCode approx. Q1/25 and older) - and I'd most likely notice as I use this feature all the time.
