Implementation Status - Ankur's Wiki Notes

🎉 MINIMALIST REDESIGN COMPLETED

Design Philosophy: Apple/Google-style "just works" - features that require zero configuration

All features have been implemented with a minimalist approach:

  • ✅ Instant, no-config operation
  • ✅ Auto-detection where possible
  • ✅ One-click actions
  • ✅ Clean, emoji-based UI
  • ✅ System-integrated (dark mode)

✅ PHASE 1 FULLY IMPLEMENTED

1. Multiple Highlight Colors ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED

  • 🟨 Yellow (Important)
  • 🟩 Green (Definition)
  • 🟦 Blue (Question)
  • 🟥 Red (Critical)
  • 🟪 Purple (Reference)

How to use:

  • Select text → Right-click → "Highlight as..." → Choose color
  • Colors persist across browser sessions
  • Each color has meaning/category

2. Keyboard Shortcuts ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED

  • Ctrl+Shift+N - Open side panel
  • Ctrl+Shift+H - Highlight selection (yellow)
  • Ctrl+Shift+F - Open search
  • Ctrl+Shift+Q - Quick note
  • Ctrl+S - Save notes
  • Ctrl+P - Toggle preview
  • Ctrl+E - Export notes

3. Search & Filter Notes ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED (Minimalist)

  • 🔍 Instant search - no configuration needed
  • Search across all notes automatically
  • Context preview showing matched text
  • One-click to jump to any note
  • Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+F
  • Press Escape to exit search

4. Auto Dark Mode ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED (Minimalist)

  • 🌙 Automatically detects system preference
  • No manual toggle needed
  • Switches automatically when system changes
  • Full dark theme for all UI elements
  • Works on macOS, Windows, Linux

5. Auto-Detect Tags ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED (Minimalist)

  • #️⃣ Just type #tagname in your notes
  • Tags automatically extracted and displayed
  • No manual tagging UI needed
  • Tags shown in stats and dashboard
  • Filter by tag in dashboard view

6. Clean Dashboard ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED (Minimalist)

  • 📊 Essential info only: total notes, highlights
  • List of all pages with notes
  • Word count and date for each page
  • Auto-detected tags displayed
  • One-click navigation to any page
  • Beautiful gradient stats header

7. Simple Task Checkboxes ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED (Minimalist)

  • ✅ Just type [ ] for unchecked, [x] for checked
  • Auto-renders in preview mode
  • No complex task management UI
  • Works seamlessly with wiki markup

8. One-Click Export ✓

Status: FULLY IMPLEMENTED (Minimalist)

  • ↓ Smart format detection (text vs markdown)
  • Auto-downloads without dialog

    • Enables powerful filtering
  3. All Notes Dashboard (3-4 hours)

    • See everything at a glance
    • Navigation hub
  4. Dark Mode (30 mins)

    • Easy win
    • Quality of life improvement
  5. Task Management (2-3 hours)

    • Integrates todos with notes
    • Very practical

Then continue with Templates, Annotations, etc.
