I am working on a project using BeatNet and MIDI, and I would appreciate your feedback on whether this approach makes sense.
The goal of the project is to help a drummer stay in tempo without relying on a rigid metronome. The idea is to display the current tempo of the song while still allowing the tempo to move naturally during live performance.
My current idea is to take the MIDI notes sent by a drum module into a software application that receives and processes the signal, then generates an audio stream to be analyzed by BeatNet.
To make the signal cleaner, I am thinking of using only the snare and bass drum notes to generate the drum audio buffer, while excluding ghost notes.
Do you think this approach could work with BeatNet? Do you have any recommendations or considerations I should keep in mind?
