Current Behavior
When using the Monkeytype interface (specifically with the rainbow trail/caret effects enabled), typed characters and underscores are being rendered haphazardly above the current line of text. These "ghost" characters appear in various colors and do not clear properly, creating significant visual clutter that interferes with readability.
Expected Behavior
The trail effect should follow the cursor position smoothly without duplicating text characters or UI elements (like underlines) in static positions above the typing area.
Steps To Reproduce
Go to Settings and enable Caret/Cursor Trail (or a custom Rainbow Trail script).
Start a typing test.
Observe that as you type, characters (like 'e', 'l', 'r', 't', 'g') and red underlines appear in the empty space above the active line.
Environment
- OS: Windows 11
- Browser: Brave
- Browser Version: v 1.88.132
