Python package `mqt.problemsolver` is not compatible with Qiskit SDK v2

Our automated Qiskit Ecosystem checkups show that mqt.problemsolver is currently not compatible with Qiskit SDK v2:

This is a requirement for continued membership in the Qiskit Ecosystem.

Could you let us know:

• Whether you're aware of this incompatibility
• Whether/when you plan to fix it

If we don't hear back or see progress soon, MQT ProblemSolver will be removed from the Qiskit Ecosystem website, since it no longer meets the membership criteria. We'd rather not do that. Please reach out if you need more time or have questions about the requirement. If the removal happens, no worries, you can reapply at any point.

Qiskit v1 reached end-of-life
With the release of 1.4.6 (see the release notes here), the major Qiskit 1.* version is now no longer maintained in any form. It is highly recommended that you move the code to Qiskit v2 as soon as possible.

Fun fact: Qiskit v1 was released in Feb 2024 (28 months ago!). No other quantum software gives developer this level of support and backwards compatibility :)
