Didn't see anything about this, but when working in the program, I noticed that clicking on certain objects automatically opens their associated palette. Such as a click on a percussion note opens the percussion editing palette or a click on a note head immediately places you in note editing. So perhaps a click on a staff or a time signature or a key signature could open the associated palette? Just a thought...
