Your idea
With the current "Pitch names" and "German pitch names" notehead schemes, a pitch alteration is shown within the notehead in addition to the accidental in front of the note (or being implied by key signature or accidental earlier in the bar).
We should allow showing the unaltered pitch within the notehead, with the alteration being provided only by accidentals/key signatures.
So, e.g. a B flat would have a ♭ accidental in front of the note, and "B" (rather than "Bb") shown within the notehead.
The new schemes could be called:
- Pitch names (no alterations) | German pitch names (no alterations)
- Pitch names without alterations | German pitch names without alterations
- etc.
