Can you give me some context for these changes? Does this fix some bug, improve performance/recovery in some scenario? Why did you start to work on this? Answers would help me with reviewing this. FWIW, I've never even read the original code, so to understand the diff not only do I have to get what the diff implements, but also what the original code's purpose and context was... |

No known bugs, I was reviewing the code (after you poking at me 😅) and realized that these paths don't handle failures as gracefully as they should, potentially creating hard to detect issues |
