screen toolkit issue with screen recording in niri

Screen toolkit (v1.1.3) puts the screen record popup above the record area.

or below if there is no space above

However, when there is no space neither above nor below it puts it above, and it's not visible.

I think that popup should be placed on either left or right side if there is space or start stop action can be in the bar in full screen recording.

Hey, I reworked this and it’s already fixed. The repo has the latest version:

Still got a few parts left to work on, I’ll push another update in the next few days.

Thanks a lot for your work. @ycf-anon I updated as you lay out to version 1.20. Update fixes the above issue.
I also tested the other parts and all work great. One thing I think it can be improved is the color picker. I don't think we need to gray out the screen and a some sort of magnifier around the cursor would make it easier to pick the right color example: https://github.com/tuberry/color-picker.

@barslmn yeah, you’re right, I agree. Right now we’re using slurp, but we could use Hyprpicker: https://github.com/hyprwm/hyprpicker

It’s made for Hyprland, but it should work on other WMs too.

I’m not home right now, but tonight I’ll update the script and try dropping slurp if it works well.

@barslmn I updated the script to use hyprpicker.

it works on other wlroots compositors (like Niri) and is a small standalone binary.

I tested it on Niri, and it works well and integrates nicely with the plugin.

Would be great to hear how it works on your setup:

# install hyprpicker (Arch)
sudo pacman -S hyprpicker

# reinstall plugin
rm -rf ~/.config/noctalia/plugins/screen-toolkit
cd ~/.config/noctalia/plugins/
