I wanted to raise this as a broader Windows UX/workflow discussion too.
For developers who keep tools, SDKs, package caches, and project data on a separate drive, the current Codex Windows app installation flow feels too opaque. The main need is not only choosing where the app executable goes, but understanding and controlling where related data is stored over time: app data, caches, logs, update files, and local metadata.
This matters because many Windows users intentionally keep C: small and clean, while using D: or another drive for development tools.
Would the team consider:
