Removing old branches from repo

Currently there are some old branches in this repo.

I would suggest removing them if they have no benefit anymore, e.g. already merged branches.

This would help gaining an overview of relevant branches.

Do we really need the develop branch in the long term or is it enough if we continue working only with tags for releases, @RussH?

so long as every commit is working and we only have PR's that don't break - so master is always a in a good state, no reason to keep a seperate develop. It was to work on a seperate dev branch and then merge it back, much like the php8 branch. But if we're working with CI tested PR's we should be good to stick with Master
