Oracle Supports Oracle Database running in Kubernetes, Furthermore, Oracle offers a Kubernetes operator, Oracle Database Operator for Kubernetes, which not only allows for running containerized databases in a Kubernetes cluster but also enables the operation of non-containerized databases outside of Kubernetes:
- Autonomous databases in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
- Non-autonomous databases in OCI (Database Cloud Service)
- Pluggable databases (PDBs) on any database (on-premise or in the cloud, Exa or traditional deployments)
In this way, developers can operate our database in the same manner as any other component of their applications, and utilize our best solutions (Exadata, Autonomous, etc.) to run these databases, and DBAs maintain control of such important topics as security, high availability, disaster recovery...
