I'll give a short background on why I am asking these questions.
I had a working setup using the chatgpt skill. Using a server with a gpu that ran stt,tts and ollama. I saw that the recommendation to use the persona method for AI fallback. I got that working, but found out it was going to wolfram instead of my local ollama. I ripped out the guts, but pulled to hard and mycroft would only say boop, boop. I couldn't get it to work even by running the installer. This is why I decided to re-install from a bare fresh Trixie install.
The other problem I have is that at some point while I had the case open so I could re-flash the sd card, I managed to land the +12v pad on the power jack on one of the speaker terminals. I think the sound card part of the main board is dead. I've been poking around with my meter to see if I can find any open fuses, resistors or blown capacitors, so far no luck. I've got the schematics mycroft.ai published, but they could be better. I have also managed to find some new, old stock, wm8731 chips and some TPA3113 amplifier chips, but the chips are small and my eyes are dim, so I am hoping I haven't destroyed anything.
With Trixie installed and bluetooth moved off serial0, I can operate the front panel by piping commands to the serial port. blink, smile, eyes roll, change color etc. so the arduino is ok. I tried swapping the RPI3 for another and get the exact same results, so I don't think that is the problem. (which is sort of too bad, because that would be an easier fix)
I did swap the RPI3 with another
Thank you for listening to my woes, whether you can offer advice or not.
