I have been trying to set up an exim4/dovecot/sieve email server configuration on my LinuxMint 22.2 system, and I have not been able to successfully set it up.
I have found numerous discussions about this kind of email server configuration on line, and I've tried all of those which look like they might pertain. But unfortunately, everything I have tried has failed.
Because I have tried a number of different sets of set-up instructions, there are several different ways in which these have been failing, depending upon which instance of set-up instructions that I was trying at any given time.
I prefer not to clutter this discussion group with a back-and-forth, piece-by-piece discussion about individual subsets of configuration settings. Instead of that, I think it's much better if I could find some place where there are detailed, step-by-step instructions from beginning to end for how to set up exim4/dovecot/sieve under LinuxMint 22.2, or perhaps under an earlier but still fairly recent LinuxMint version.
And I'd very much hope that these suggested instructions would already have been performed under LinuxMint by the people recommending these instructions, and that those instructions would already have proven to yield working, successful results under LinuxMint.
I have already posted this question in the https://forums.linuxmint.com discussion site, but no one there has been able to offer any help, and that's why I am now posting here.
The following is the exim4/dovecot/sieve configuration that I'm trying to set up:
This is a very standard set of features that are present in many functioning email servers in the world, but again, I haven't been able to get even this extremely common email server configuration working on my LinuxMint device.
Any pointers to useful, step-by-step, beginning-to-end configuration instructions that actually have been proven to work under LinuxMint to accomplish this would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
