Give us a Dolphin equivalent browser in Mint.

I currently use Dolphin in Cinnamon as I feel its far superior to Nemo and I particularly like the tree view in the main window that Dolphin offers and not the sidebar like Nemo. Basically, I'd like Dolphin ported over to Cinnamon. Come on Devs, give us the choice please as I bet I'm not the only one who prefers Dolphin over Nemo (or any of the other file browsers currently available in Mint).

You do have a choice and you exercised it, I don't see the issue here.

Dolphin is a QT-based app and will never fully integrate with Cinnamon as well as Nemo does. We're much better off focusing on improving what we have.

That's why I'm asking for a Mate equivalent or change Nemo. And, as you point out, Dolphin is a QT based app which is incompatible with Mate.

In fact, MATE or Cinnamon do not force you to use only GTK-based apps. You can install Dolphin on either and use it just fine, you can set it as the default from settings.

I've actually discovered that Nemo can do what it is I like about Dolphin. In Views > List View Details then select 'Show Folder Expanders'. Im happy now and have removed Dolphin.

Actually, Dolphin causes Cinnamon DE to constantly crash due to the conflict of trying to run a KDE app in the wrong environment. I tended to see loads of cinnamon --replace in htop when running Dolphin.

Have you tried the "List view" option (Control+2)? It has expansion arrows for directories, to me that's a tree view.

only just seen your comment, after I wrote my reply to you (above). Yes, I found it. But discovered something I don't like...
In View > Reload it refreshes the window and closes any open folder, whereas in Dolphin, it just refreshes the window and reopens the opened folders (which I prefer).

To counter the lack of ability to open previous tabs, I've created a desktop launcher to open the specific tabs I want to open.
