Connect Raspi via bluetooth to a meshtastic node

Hi folks,
i want to send data (text strings, commands etc) between two Raspis over some distance using Meshtastic. Imagine a node running on solar/battery, hanging high into a tree. There is no cable or WiFi, just bluetooth.
Since the Raspi has bluetooth, is it possible to pair the Raspi with the Meshtastic node and then send a text string from the Raspi into the mesh as well as receiving text strings from the Mesh?
What steps would i have to follow to realise that?
