sx1262 Lora libs

Years ago I got hold of some TTGO lora boards, loaded up an ancient sx127X lib & had lora packets running in no time. Prior to that had a similar easy time of it with lopy4s when pycom first burst on the scene.

Not able to make any progress with the new generation sx1262 based chips from heltec & lilygo with upython. Is this an example of enshitification? Only thing I can get running is the ssd1306 display. Even the C++ gurus on the various forums seem to be having issues.

Anybody here been able to send or receive a simple lora packet through the sx1262 via upython?
