we'll need to update this again later but it's already broken from merge conflicts and doesn't reflect reality really.... not that the update reflects reality with still being problematic (see #314)

Contributing file got messed up in merge conflicts and also confused by the fact that the real issue wasn't the branches but that
mainwas added after the CONTRIBUTING.md doc was defined.This update doesn't exactly reflect the current reality (see #314) because
mainis the default branch and what triggers the deploy workflow, but we'll need to address this anyway when that issue is worked.
