change parameters dynamically

Hi, this is a really great Tree, so thanks!
I wonder if it is possible to change a tree parameter dynamically?
I put a checkbox and use reload function to change parameters with no success for example i want the user decides whether to see side panel or not.

That would be interesting in terms of how selecting options would work, but I don't think it should be too bad to change the code to do this.
