Navigation: Investigate a resizable left navigation panel

Problem statement

Some products have a primary navigation as well as a secondary nav panels in the page container. Combined these that take up a significant portion of the screen. This spike will investigate possible solutions/recommendations for this issue.

Things to consider:

• UI patterns: Nav hidden by default?
• Breakpoint changes?
• Impact of additional drawers on this layout (chatbots, details panels, quickstarts, notification drawers, etc.)

Hi @andrew-ronaldson @itsptk For OpenShift Virtualization this option is crucial as we got some feedback around that.
I think the left nav pane should be narrowed down by default and I would also ask to make it customizable, so the user can control the level/ how much they can narrow it down.
I also think it's important to highlight this option exist to make users aware of it and how easy the switch is. This can be surfaced in various ways - in and outside the UI.

This is an issue for virtualization as there is less space available to show the workload (VM) details. We are thinking of auto hiding the left navigation menu once users click on the Virtual machines page
