Having trouble running Laravel with docker + frankenphp

I want to host my Laravel application using Docker and frankenphp but without using Octane. It seems like an easy task following the docs but I have one more requirement - the container must run on host network, therefore, it should be running on some custom port as port 80 is already taken, I also don't need any ssl management because that's already done by a reverse nginx proxy on the production server.

Here's my dockerfile

I hoped my project would be served on port 8085 with this setup but it's not.

I guess I'm just missing something really simple, yet crucial. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think root should be /app/public

Still no luck, it doesn't even seem that it runs anything on any port.

Weird things is - when I try to run it without docker-compose (just with plain docker build and docker run) it seems to run fine (with port forwarding) but when I try to bring it up with docker compose up, over the host network, nothing seems to be happening.

Have you tried without network_mode: "host" by just exposing the port 8085:8085?

Yeah, so apparently docker on windows doesn't support the "host" network. It works fine with port mapping
