Software-only justification

Agent Micro is open-source replacement firmware and open-source host-side flashing tooling for existing commercial hardware. The project does not manufacture or redesign the third-party PCB and therefore has no PCB design files to publish. A shared allocation is needed so users of the open firmware can flash one collision-free USB identity instead of inventing per-user VID/PID pairs.

The firmware repository includes reproducible source builds, licensing, safety documentation, and the complete USB implementation. The current locally selected VID/PID is explicitly treated as experimental; the stable firmware release remains blocked until an allocation is accepted.

Validation

The official python -m test.validate_pids validator passes locally.
