Hello,

I found a bug in PlainRemover v1.1.0 on Windows.

When I load an image and enable the Compare slider, the preview does not display correctly. Instead of showing the original image on one side and the processed/background-changed image on the other side, the original image seems to disappear or gets rendered incorrectly.

What happens:

  • The image preview is only shown as a small horizontal strip.
  • The original image is not visible correctly.
  • A broken image icon and/or the file path text is shown inside the preview area.
  • The Compare slider handle is visible, but the image area is clipped or rendered in the wrong size.

Expected behavior:

  • The Compare slider should show the original image on one side and the edited image on the other side, like in the example screenshot on the project page.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install PlainRemover_1.1.0_x64-setup.exe
  2. Start PlainRemover on Windows
  3. Click Select image...
  4. Load a normal PNG or JPG image
  5. Click Change background...
  6. Enable Compare
  7. The preview area renders incorrectly and the original image is missing/clipped

I tested several things, but the issue remains:

  • Tried different image files
  • Tried PNG and JPG
  • Tried short file paths, for example C:\Temp\test.jpg
  • Tried renaming the file
  • Tried changing Windows high-DPI compatibility settings
  • Tried restarting the application

The problem seems to be related to the Compare slider / preview rendering, not to the image file itself.

Environment:

  • PlainRemover version: 1.1.0
  • Installer: PlainRemover_1.1.0_x64-setup.exe
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2 Build 26200.8328
  • Architecture: x64

I attached screenshots showing the expected preview from the project page and the broken preview on my system.

Thank you.
