Evolution

Peter Motschmann edited this page Feb 11, 2019 · 5 revisions

The first phase of the game is evolution. The goal of this phase is to evolve from a single celled organism into a sentient species. There are 25 possible outcomes to evolution which can not be controlled on a first run.

This part of the game has two basic resources: RNA & DNA. You can freely harvest RNA, DNA costs 2 RNA to fuse.

RNA

RNA is the beginning action available to the player, clicking this button will generate 1 RNA.

DNA

DNA can be made by combining 2 RNA, unlocks once the player has harvested some RNA.

Membrane

Increases RNA capacity by 5

Organelles

Organelles automatically generate RNA, each organelle will generate 1 RNA per second.

Nucleus

Nucleus will automatically consume 2 RNA every second and produce 1 DNA. Make sure you have enough organelles to sustain this process or production will halt.

Eukaryotic Cell

Eukaryotic Cells increase DNA capacity by 10

Mitochondria

Mitochondria increases RNA capacity by 50 and DNA capacity by 25

Sexual Reproduction

Sexual Reproduction is the first step in advanced evolution.

Phagocytosis, Chloroplasts, or Chitin

Depending on how your evolution forks you will develop phagocytosis, chloroplasts, or chitin. Observant players can take a hint from this about what kind of end results they may end up with.

Multicellular

The next step in evolution is evolving into a multicellular creature.

Spores, Poikilohydric, or Bilateral Symmetry

The evolution path here depends on how you evolved earlier.

  • Phagocytosis -> Bilateral Symmetry -> Protostomes/Deuterostome
    • Protostomes -> Athropods
    • Deuterostome -> Mammals/Eggshell
  • Chloroplasts -> Poikilohydric -> Bryophyte -> Vascular/Homoiohydric
  • Chitin -> Spores -> Bryophyte -> Vascular

Sentience

The final step in all evolution is Sentience. This can result in any of 25 different races.
